*Available in France only.

A triggered order places a trade on your behalf when your target price is reached. Your target price is simply the price in which you want to buy or sell an asset.

Triggered buy order

The triggered buy order will be executed as a market order when the asset’s price hits the target price you’ve set*. When the asset’s price reaches the target price, your linked debit card will be charged** and only then the order will be placed.

Example: Today the price of stock X is 20 USD per share. You would like to buy this stock when its price will be 10% lower than now. You can set up a triggered buy order for stock X which will only be placed on the market if and when the price of this stock drops 10%.

Triggered sell order

The triggered sell order will be executed as a market order when the asset’s price hits the target price you’ve set*.

Example: Today the price of stock Y is 10 USD per share. You would like to sell your holdings in this stock only if the price per share increases to 15 USD. You can set up a triggered sell order, which will only be placed on the market if and when the price of this stock increases to 15 USD.

*As these orders trigger a market order when the desired price is hit, the actual price cannot be guaranteed; it is determined upon execution at the best available price at that time.

You can schedule a maximum of 5 triggered buy and sell orders for each asset, with a maximum of 100 triggered orders in total (buy and sell). If you would like to schedule a new triggered order for a specific asset, you can either wait for your existing buy or sell orders to execute, or cancel them.

**To set up and execute a Triggered Order, you need to have a debit card linked to your Shares account. If you unlink your card from your Shares account while having any scheduled Triggered Orders, they will not be executed.
