At Shares, we are committed to ensuring transparency and clarity regarding the fees associated with investments on Shares Pro. This article outlines the various fees that may apply to Investment Plans depending on the type of investment account.
Custody Fee
The custody fee is charged by both Shares and Wealth Managers to cover the costs of holding and maintaining the client’s investments. This fee is applied separately for each individual investment account within the client's portfolio.
Custody Fee Rate
Investment Account Type | Shares Fee | Wealth Manager Fee | Total Fee |
CTO | 0.3% (standard — may vary based on agreeement) | Up to 0.7% (Optional, from 0% to 0.7%) | Max 1% Min 0.3% |
PEA | 0.3% (Fixed fee) | Up to 0.1% (Optional, from 0% to 0.1%) | Max 0.4% Min 0.3% |
How is the Custody Fee Calculated?
The custody fee is calculated daily based on the value of the invested assets (excluding cash) in an account.
The applicable fee percentage is divided by 365 to determine the daily fee rate.
On the 10th of each month, the total custody fee for the previous month is collected from your client’s available cash. If no cash is available and SEPA Direct Debit is linked, the fee is automatically debited from the linked bank account.
Example of calculation:
Investment Value: €100,000
Shares Fee: 0.3%
Wealth Manager Fee: 0.5%
Total Fee: 0.3% + 0.5% = 0.8%
Daily Fee Calculation:
Shares Fee Calculation:
Daily Rate: 0.3% / 365 = 0.00082192%
Daily Custody Fee: €100,000 * 0.00082192% = €0.82 per dayWealth Manager Fee Calculation:
Daily Rate: 0.5% / 365 = 0.00136986%
Daily Custody Fee: €100,000 * 0.00136986% = €1.37 per day
Total Daily Fee:
€0.82 (Shares) + €1.37 (Wealth Manager) = €2.19 per day
Monthly Fee (30 days):
Shares Fee: €0.82 * 30 = €24.60
Wealth Manager Fee: €1.37 * 30 = €41.10
Total Monthly Fee: €24.60 + €41.10 = €65.70 for the month
Advisory Fee
The advisory fee is charged exclusively by Wealth Managers to cover the costs of providing personalized investment advice. This fee is applied at the Investment Plan level, allowing for varying fees for each individual Investment Plan within the portfolio. As opposed to the Custody fee, where there is a Shares fee, the Advisory fee is only charged by the Wealth Manager.
Advisory Fee Rate
Investment Account Type | Shares Fee | Wealth Manager Fee | Total Fee |
CTO | 0€ | Up to 1.2% (VAT incl.) (Optional from 0% to 1.2% | Max 1.2% |
PEA | 0€ | Up to 1.2% (VAT incl.) (Optional from 0% to 1.2% | Max 1.2% |
How is the Advisory Fee Calculated?
The advisory fee is determined daily, using the daily value of the invested assets (excluding cash).
The applicable fee percentage is divided by 365 to calculate the daily rate.
The advisory fee invoice is available from the 11th business day of the month. If no cash is available and SEPA DD is linked, the fee is auto-debited.
Example of calculation:
Investment Value: €100,000
Wealth Manager Fee: 0.5%
Total Fee: 0.5%
Daily Fee Calculation:
Daily Fee Rate: 0.5% / 365 = 0.00136986%
Daily Advisory Fee: €100,000 × 0.00136986% = €1.37 per day
Monthly Fee (30 days):
Monthly Fee: €1.37 × 30 = €41.10
Service Fee
Service fees are charged by Shares for each execution of an Investment Plan as part of the standard execution costs. This fee is deducted directly from the Investment Plan amount. This is a fee applied by Shares for settlement, execution, and FX of the order - the Wealth Manager does not receive any of this fee.

PEA |

How is the Service Fee Calculated?
The service fee is calculated dynamically for each execution of an Investment Plan.
For example, if your client has a monthly Investment Plan, the fee will be applied to each execution and deducted from the Investment amount accordingly.
CTO:
Investment Amount: €10,000
Shares Fee: 0.2%
Service Fee Calculation: €10,000 × 0.2% = €20
Total Fee Deducted for each execution: €20
PEA:
Investment Amount: €300
Shares Fee: €1 (for amounts between €200 and €500)
Total Fee Deducted for each execution: €1
Entry fees
Entry fees apply only when a Plan includes Mutual Funds. They are divided into two categories: acquired entry fees and non-acquired entry fees.
Entry fee overview
Fee type | Definition | Set by | Details |
Acquired entry fee | Fee defined in the fund’s prospectus | Asset manager / fund documentation | Non-modifiable fee. The rate may vary by fund and is displayed during plan creation and approval. It is paid directly to the broker, who then forwards it to the asset manager. |
Non-acquired entry fee | Additional entry fee applied within WM-defined limits | Wealth Management at Plan creation | Adjustable between 0% and fund-specific maximum. |
How are Entry Fees calculated?
Entry fees are calculated on the invested cash amount (i.e. the amount going into the fund, excluding other fees such as the service fee). The entry fee is then added on top, meaning the client pays the invested amount plus the entry fee — the total forms the gross investment amount.
Both acquired and non-acquired entry fees follow the same calculation logic. They are applied at the moment the investment order is executed. Because the entry fee itself is calculated from the invested cash amount, the invested cash amount must first be derived from the gross investment amount after deducting the service fee and the applicable entry fee.
Example of calculation:
Gross investment amount: €300
Service fee: €1
Invested cash amount: €300 − €1 (service fee) − €5.86 (entry fee) = €293.14
Non-acquired entry fee rate: 2%
Entry fee calculation:
Invested cash amount: €293.14
Non-acquired entry fee: €293.14 × 2% = €5.86
Acquired entry fee: €0 (0% in this example)
Total entry fee: €5.86
Gross investment breakdown:
Invested cash amount: €293.14
Service fee: €1.00
Entry fee: €5.86
= Total gross investment: €300.00
Initial vs. Recurring Investments
Initial investment: Entry fees are charged at the moment the initial order is executed. The fee is calculated on the invested cash amount and added on top to form the total gross investment.
Recurring investment: Entry fees are applied each time a recurring investment is executed, following the plan's schedule.
