Being connected to other investors is a core functionality of our app and the part we believe makes a difference to investing.
To view the list of your followers and following:
Access your Profile by tapping on your picture in the top left corner of the screen (your picture will be visible in all three main screens in our app including Investing, Explore, and Social).
Tap "Followers" to see who follows you, or "Following" to see users you follow.
In the list of your followers and following, you can follow/unfollow other users, remove users from your followers, and accept follow requests.
To follow other users:
You can do it in three ways: from the "Accounts to follow" menu, from the Social feed (by tapping on the user's picture and then "Follow"), or from the "Suggested for you" section in the Explore screen (by tapping on the "Follow" button next to the user's name).
To follow other users via "Accounts to follow" menu:
Tap on your photo in the top left corner to access your profile.
Tap on the icon with a little plus sign
in the top right corner of the screen. You can then search for other users from your contacts or choose to follow from the "You may know" category.
You can send them a follow request by clicking on the “Follow" button next to their name then wait for them to accept. You can also discard suggestions by tapping on the little cross icon.
To search for other users, do it via the search bar at the top of the screen. Type either their name or username to find them and send them a follow request by clicking on the "Follow" button next to their name then wait for them to accept.
To accept a follow request:
When someone sends you a follow request, a notification will be sent to you. Tap on the notification on your phone’s screen or open your followers list in the Shares app.
To accept the request, click the “Accept” button. You will now be connected to this user.
To follow back your followers:
Because "Follow" is a one-way connection, other users may be following you but you may not be following them. In that case, to enhance your connection, you can follow them back:
Open your followers list in the Shares app.
In the “Follows you” category, you will find users who follow you but you don’t follow them. To follow them, click the “Follow back” button.
To unfollow users you follow:
You can do it in two ways: directly from the list of your following in your Profile or via the Social feed.
To unfollow users you follow from the list of your following in your Profile:
Open your following list in the Shares app.
To unfollow a user, click on the “Following” button next to their name.
The pop-up window will appear at the bottom with two options: “Unfollow” or “Close”.
If you tap on the "Unfollow" button, you will remove this user from your following list.
If you decide to continue following this user, tap on the "Close" button.
To unfollow users you follow via the Social feed:
Tap on the user profile picture.
On the user profile, click the three dots icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
Click the “Unfollow" button.
Choose "Unfollow" in the pop-up window to confirm your action.
To remove followers:
In your followers list, click the user’s name you want to remove from your followers list.
You are then taken to the user profile. Tap the three dots in the top right corner of the screen to open the profile.
Select the "Remove Follower" option.
In the pop-up window, select "Remove" to confirm your action.
If you decide to keep this user in your followers list, tap on the “Close” button.
To block users:
You can do it in two ways: directly from the followers and following list, or via the Social feed.
Tap on the user profile picture.
Click the three dots icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
Choose Block.
Confirm by choosing Block on the pop-up window.
After the block, please keep in mind that:
You and this user will no longer be following each other on the Shares app.
You will no longer be able to see this user's activity, and vice versa, this user will not be able to see yours.
