How to get a bonus after being referred to Shares?

Step 1. Follow the link you’ve received from your friend to download the Shares app. When you click on the link you will get redirected to Google or App store. Make sure you download the app only through that dedicated link.

Step 2. When the app is installed, go through the sign-up flow. Make sure to set up both your social and investment profiles. Please note that our referral programme is currently only available to our UK members. During the onboarding process, you will be able to select the stock in which you want us to invest £5 on your behalf.

Step 3. Deposit at least £1 to your Shares account.

And you’re done! We will automatically execute the £5 worth of stock you’ve selected provided the market is open. Until then, the selected stock will be marked as pending in the Invest screen.

What will I get if I register through the link of my friend?

After completing your first deposit we will invest £5 in a stock of your choice.

How can I choose the stock to get as part of the referral process?

While going through the investment account creation process you will see the special screen to choose the stock. You can choose any stock we have on our platform.

How much time do I have to register?

There are 7 days to download the app once the link has been shared. Once the app has been downloaded, the time to sign up is limited according to the length of the referral program.

I’ve downloaded the app not via a link of my friend by mistake. Can I still be counted as an invitee?

If you’ve downloaded the app but haven’t gone through the sign-up process, you can simply uninstall the app and download it again via a link from your friend. If you’ve completed the sign-up already, unfortunately, you won’t benefit from the referral scheme. Downloading the app via the link from your friend is a critical step. This is how we will know that you came from another member of the Shares community.

Why is my chosen stock in a pending state?

We can only execute on your behalf when the US markets are open, from Monday through Friday 9:30 to 16:00 New York time (equivalent to 14:30 - 21:00 London time). The market is also closed on the US public holidays.

As soon as the US markets open, we will execute the pending order.

Can I invite friends on my own?

Yes. You will be able to invite your friends to Shares and receive a referral bonus as soon as you deposit funds into your account. You will receive £20 for each friend you refer, up to a maximum of 10 eligible friends. The total amount you can earn for referring friends cannot exceed £200. You will still be able to refer friends once it reaches this point, but you will no longer receive £20 for it.
