You can transfer your Shares PEA to another institution. Please note that Shares only accepts cash transfers. This means that you will need to sell the assets held in your PEA before initiating the transfer.

Step 1: Liquidate your PEA positions

Before transferring your PEA, please sell all the securities held in the PEA.

Step 2: Ask your new broker to contact us

Once your positions are liquidated, contact your new broker and request them to initiate the transfer process with Shares. They will need to send a transfer request to our email transfert-pea@shares.io to begin the process, then we will take care of the rest.

Step 3: Transfer and close your Shares PEA

Once the cash has been transferred to the new broker, and we have sent them the Tax Information Bulletin for your PEA, they will be able to proceed with the PEA account opening for you.
