How to understand the Gain/Loss display?

Find out more information about the Gain/Loss information in the app

Updated yesterday

To check what gain or loss you made on your investment in a particular asset, simply locate the asset (for example under your Portfolio section) and tap on it, to display its Instrument details screen. Underneath the graph you can see the Investments section, where you can find the Gain/Loss you’ve made, excluding the transaction costs.

If the particular asset is traded in a foreign currency (USD), an “i” icon is displayed next to the Gain/Loss section. Tap on it, to display detailed information, including:

  • Gain/Loss - Your gains or losses from your investment are displayed here, excluding the FX rate impact.

  • FX rate impact - This section displays the impact of the difference between the currencies (USD and EUR) on your investment. Depending on the market conditions, this may impact your investment positively or negatively. To learn more about FX rate impact, check our article: What is the FX rate impact, and why does it affect my investment?

  • Total gain/loss - Depending on whether your investment is in a profit or a loss, this section will be displayed as “Gain” or “Loss” respectively. This section displays the gain or loss of your portfolio, including the FX rate impact.

On your Invest (Home) screen you can also find the Investments section, showing the Gain/Loss on your total currently invested amount, excluding the transaction costs. Tapping on More details underneath this section will bring you to the Portfolio Insights page. Learn more about this section in our article: How to understand my Portfolio Insights?.
