In our app we currently offer two types of accounts:
Personal account - opened and operated solely in your name. Available in all countries supported at Shares (see the full list in our article: Countries currently supported).
Business account - opened and operated in your name, on behalf of your company. Available only for our FR users. Learn more about this unique option in our article: What are Business accounts and who can create them?.
Depending on the type of account you’re using, different rules apply for making transfers in and out of your Shares account:
Personal account
If you’re using a Personal account, you can only link your personal bank account or debit card in our app. Using a business bank account or card to make transfers into or out of your Personal Shares account is not allowed*.
Keep in mind that the name of the bank account holder (in case of a bank transfer) or the name on the card you’re using should match your full legal name. Making transfers using a third party account is not allowed.
*The only exception is in case of a sole proprietorship, registered in France. If you are a sole trader (Entreprise Individuelle) you can link your business bank account or card to your Personal account in our app.
Business account
If you’re using a Business account, you can only link your business bank account or debit card in our app. Using your personal bank account or card to make transfers into or out of your Business Shares account is not allowed.
Keep in mind that when you make a bank transfer, the name of the bank account holder should match your company name. When you make a card payment using your business card, the name of the cardholder should match your full legal name or the name of your company. Making transfers using a third party account is not allowed.
*The availability of different payment methods in our app varies according to the country you’re registering from. To find out what deposit methods are available for you, check our article: How can I deposit funds to my Shares account?
